The Sioux inhabited the plains of the United States. They were nomadic, moving according to the movement of the bison herds. Their conical dwellings, tepees, were perfect for nomadic life, as they were easily transportable. The tepee consisted of long wooden poles covered with bison skin that could be assembled and disassembled. This was done by the women.
The American Indians had a strong warrior spirit, were good hunters and had a great respect for nature. However, their customs and languages were very different from each other.
